Sketch #58 Little Shop of Sketches

Here's my layout for Little Shop of sketches, Sketch #58 by Tanya Leigh.
I used the My Creative Scrapbook kit of November with lots of Teresa Collins papers

I cut out the flower and put some ice blue Stickles on the edges.
Blue flowers are Bo Bunny and other flowers by Petaloo
Swirls by Prima and the die cut paper is by Creative Imaginations

I love the transparency. It fits just right!
Mara is riding a very big horse here. He's so sweet, and she did a great job.
Thanks for looking!

North Pole Nights mini album

Ok, here we go!
Beware, this is a long post with lots of pictures. My mini album with Nikki Sivils' North Pole Nights papers.
I used heat embossing, so love that technique!
The stamp swirl is also Nikki's, from the U R my favorite line

Lots and lots of fabric from Tilda.

The side of the album without the fabric I used Glimmer Mist and Shimmerz Spritz to give it some color.
This page is from a childerens book, found on a book market,
the tag is yet again heat embossed (Ranger silver)

Puff paint by Tulip to get the white dots

The little bird and button are Tilda's

Sweet tree, it's Nikki's!

Shimmerz Spritz to color the flowers

and the leaves!

I added some Gesso on the chipboard heart and sprayed it with Shimmerz

Painted over the Prima felt flowers with Shimmerz Paint

I used the transparency by 7 Gypsies, stamped with Nikki Sivils alpha's and covered it while the ink was still wet.

Well, that's it.
Hope you enjoyed it
I had fun making this one.
Have a great week!

Xmas long long time ago

This was a challenge on Nikki Sivils' blog, what was Xmas like for you as a child. So I went through my old albums and found only two photo's! This one I remember most, my mum bought new balls for the tree, all blue. That was so modern!

Don't you just love this North Pole Nights line of Nikki's. It's my favorite so far.
I used (yes, I know I always do) Shimmerz Paint on the flowers, Shimmerz Spitz on the star border (Bazzil), the Big Brads are also Nikki Sivils.
Crystals are hotfix.
Go check out Nikki's blog for more great layouts and the winner of the challenge.
Thanks for looking and enjoy your weekend!

Lsos Sketch #56

See here sketch #56 of Little Shop of sketches.
I thought Graphic 45 as soon as I saw this sketch!
The couple on the photo are my grandparents of my dad's site.
They got married May 1st 1935.
It's such a beautiful photo.
I didn't like the grey flowers on the Prima Vines so I altered them with using two colors of Shimmerz Paint. From the Vintage line Wed Wagon and Antique Lace.

The 1935 chipboard is sprayed with Shimmerz Spritz

Family tag is by Crafty Secrets.
Thank you for looking!
Wishing you a good weekend.

November kit

Today the mail man rang my doorbell so unexpectedly. And there it was ...... MY Creative Scrapbook kit arrived. So early!
I always love the kits, they are so well picked out but this one is SUPER!
Lots of Teresa Collins, she's a sweetheart and makes the most wonderful stuff.
Look at that:
I really can't wait to play with it, this make a lovely layout for Little Shop of Sketches.
And a layout about friendship.
I will show you the latest sketch with my layout tomorrow,
Did not get a change today to re-do my photo. I'm not satisfied with the first one I made.
Now it's dark, so waiting for a new morning.
Sweet dreams and thank you again for visiting my blog!
Hugs,
Mieke

A little tutorial

Hi all,
Here a little tutoiral, I was working with this Post-it tape and thought that it could be cool to let you see the steps how to get to the layout.
I used Cardstock and patterned paper by Nikki Sivils, Boo-tifulI placed the tape first from top to bottom in the middle and went on to get this:
Then I cut up the paper between the tape, no need to be precize

This is what you have left after cutting

If you like how it looks on your cardstock, glue it down

And add some different papers, these are also from the Boo-tiful line
The book page is from Wuthering Heights that I picked up at a local bookmarket.
I used my Heidi Swapp edge distresser and lots of ink for the egdes
For the edges of the photo I used MM paint

Alpha is chipboard that you can play with how you like it

I used MM paint first

Then stamped it with Versamark, the stamp is also Nikki Sivils, U R my favorite line
This is one of my favorite techniques, heat embossing, with Blonde Moments
Add some jounaling, bling and flower and ..........
There you go, the result.
Hope you like it and also will try out working with tape and heat embossing
Enjoy and have a creative week!
Don't forget, almost time for Little Shop of sketches!

Thanks for looking!
