Sad news and Epiphany goes Pebbles

The sad news for our family..... our sweet and loyal dog called Julie has passed away late last night. She was under the weather for a couple of days but yesterday evening it all went so fast. I'm so glad we were able to be with her till the last breath. It's hard to loose a companion that has been with us for over 10 years.

12th of March 1999 - 19th of December 2011

Here my layout for the Epiphany Crafts blog. EC teamed up with the wonderful Pebbles Inc!

Such a fun collection to work with. Seems like Blogger is not working like I want it to so here's the link http://epiphanycrafts.com/blog/

Do you like my new tool? It's the Shape Studio 25 oval and I love it!!

I cut up the 3d foam squares in two. That's so easy to do. You can even cut them in 4 pieces if you need to. I mounted the Snowflakes in two layers.

Also used the Photo Corners, they are wonderful. You can ink them, paint, spray .... what ever you like. Give them a try sometime! I used them natural this time.

Well, that's it for now. Have another project with Epiphany Crafts and Pebbles on my desk so I hope to show you soon.

Epiphany Crafts

Today you can find my latest project featured on the Epiphany Crafts blog.

I decorated a witches hat, bought at Xenos. I started with glueing the ribbon to the hat, then sewed the braches on and added the crystals. I had some Nikki Sivils Halloween papers left from the time I played on the NS team. Love this paper so much that I just had to use the leftovers. The pumpkin fitted right into the EC tool with the 14 round clear bubble cap. So cool!

DD just had to goof around when she saw the hat!!

Here you can find some close ups:

That was a long break

Hi all, I'm back..... finally. It's been a long break from blogging and scrapping. After the holidays in the UK I couldn't find the mojo to get started but now I'm back!

First I want to tell you that I've been published in this super magazine from Britain. You can imagine I'm proud!

This is the layout that's been used. It was all about mums and I'm proud of mine so I had to use this photo. Although it's a bit dark it's just how she is.

Yesterday I found a great tutorial on this blog of Creative Inspirations. You might know that I love scents, incense and oils. Now I found someone used a scented oil to give smell to this wonderful paint. I can't wait to get my hands on some of this paint. Looks good to me!

This Chi oil is my favorite. You should give it a try mixing it with paints !!

This next photo is of the English town Glastonbury. The picture is not taken by me cause I was so blown away by the spirit of this town that I totally forgot to take photo's! So you can imagine how much I want to get back!

This town is know for the Glastonbury Thor, where they say Avalon should have been in the time of King Arthur and Merlin. This land and it's history is so special to me. Think I got homesick when I was back in Holland. Felt right at home. Also Wales was so special. Must have lived there in another lifetime!
Anyway, I've picked up some incense sticks there and fell in love with the Stamford brand.
These are the ones I burn the most.

To stay on the spiritual path, I finished my course of Reiki 2 last week. Now it's all up to me to use that energy wisely. It's an old Japanese healing energy. I've done the first course over 15 years ago and now it was time to take it a step further.

Thank you all for your patients. I will show you my layout and project for Epiphany Crafts soon. Have you seen the new blog by Epiphany Crafts yet? It's worth the look!
Have a great week, I promiss it won't be this long before you read more of my creative life!
Hugs,

Mieke

Another freaking scrappy challenge blog

Have you heard? There is a new kid eh.... challenge blog on the block.

This is going to be so much fun!!!

I have the honours to be a part of the guest team for the first challenge and so proud of that! Thanks a lot Anne.

Here is my layout: It's about my girl and I dreaming about a horse of our own but the dreams are a little different. Mara wants a brown sport pony while I'm in love with Irish Cobs. Looks like we'll have to find a compromise!

I've used the Copic Airbrush system to make the background with the clouds. Have you ever tried it yet? It's fun! I used Authentique for the alpha. Love it! Can't wait to get my hands on the papers.

I also want to share a video with you. You all know how I love Tattered Angels!

Thanks for looking, do check out the new challenge blog and play along.

Hugs,

Mieke

Hi all, here's another good sketch from Little Shop of Sketches made by Anne Pennington this time. Thanks Anne, for doing this sketch as such short notice. You Rock!

I've used photo's of Mara's 10th birthday. Lot's of Echo Park from a My Creative Scrapbook kit. The metal comes from my local craft store in Putten, no idea what brand. A splash of Clearsnap Spritz on Bazzil cardstock and a bit of crystals by Prima. The banner is cut with the Tim Holtz die and my cuttlebug.

Bird is the Word and some pics

Last Sunday a new word was due at the Bird is the Word blog

Admire

That word was one to think through. Who or what do I admire.... of course my family but that is so obvious. I wanted something else this time. Thinking outside of the box. That made me think of Shania Twain, a great singer and performer who just started her comeback in music. I was able to watch some of her episodes on OWN (Oprah's network) and wow, she has been through so much. What a journey she made to find her strenght and her voice again. So that's why.

The background I made with the Copic Airbrush and a Crafters Workshop Template, alpha is Fancy Pants paper cut out with the Cricut, Ashlyn's Alphabet. A paint dabber gold for the edges of the Bazzil cardstock and the small alpha is by Glitz Design, teeny alpha wood grain. You know the drill by now, make your layout with the word and link to the blog. You might just winn a nice prize!

Tonight we went to the show of Mara's dance class. Here some photo's I took.

Mara is in this photo, 5th from the left with a turquoise t-shirt.

This is Birgit, Mara's teacher

These girls danced in an Opera!

We've had a fantastic night,

Have a great weekend,

Hugs
