Bird is the Word and some pics

Last Sunday a new word was due at the Bird is the Word blog

Admire

That word was one to think through. Who or what do I admire.... of course my family but that is so obvious. I wanted something else this time. Thinking outside of the box. That made me think of Shania Twain, a great singer and performer who just started her comeback in music. I was able to watch some of her episodes on OWN (Oprah's network) and wow, she has been through so much. What a journey she made to find her strenght and her voice again. So that's why.

The background I made with the Copic Airbrush and a Crafters Workshop Template, alpha is Fancy Pants paper cut out with the Cricut, Ashlyn's Alphabet. A paint dabber gold for the edges of the Bazzil cardstock and the small alpha is by Glitz Design, teeny alpha wood grain. You know the drill by now, make your layout with the word and link to the blog. You might just winn a nice prize!

Tonight we went to the show of Mara's dance class. Here some photo's I took.

Mara is in this photo, 5th from the left with a turquoise t-shirt.

This is Birgit, Mara's teacher

These girls danced in an Opera!

We've had a fantastic night,

Have a great weekend,

Hugs

Sketch #87 Little Shop of Sketches

Hi there, welcome to a new sketch by Tanya Leigh at Little Shop of Sketches. The first sketch for the new Design Team and wow..... wow..... wow........ do check it out, they've done a tremendous job! Seriously........ all layouts are stunning.

Girls, you ROCK!

Seriously.... did I just deleted a photo? Ooohhhh H.. why does this working space have to be so small in Blogger (believe me it's even worse in Wordpress!) Oh well, just uploaded the pic again.

Supplies used:

Bazzil cardstock Black, Maja Design Crea Diem,

Prima flowers and Say it in Crystals,

Twinklets diamond dust on the lovely pink flowers,

The Twinery Blossom Bakers Twine (if you want some.....),

7 Gypsies tissue paper glued with Modge Podge,

Tim Holtz film strip

MME Sundress Sweetness rub-ons.

So, as I mentioned, check out the Little Shop of Sketches blog to see so much inspiration, I'll be back soon with a Bird is the Word layout and maybe some Epiphany Crafts things I'm working on.

Enjoy your sunday!

Hugs,

Mieke

New photographs

Today we went to Nunspeet where the KLPD (police) held demonstrations with their horses and dogs. It was amazing to see how young horses are trained to walk next to fire, through smoke and lots of noise. The dogs are trained so well to catch a person, find drugs (even on top of a car) and even drag a person out of a car on his or her arm. We watched the riot police on foot and by horse work the field. It was amazing!

I had so much fun with my camera Canon 350D with my 28-200 and 70-300 lenses. So need to do this more often! Maby this monday if the weather is good I can make some more great pics!
Tomorrow DD and I are going to the movies, a Dutch film called Penny's Shadow about horses.
Enjoy your weekend!

Mieke

Paperless layout

Well, almost that is, cause I started out with a piece of Bazzil cardstock!

Monique told me about this cool challenge on the Sampler (you can win the May kit!) and I really liked this sketch. You know me and sketches, that's a good match. Lol! Anyway, I couldn't deside what paper to use so I started misting and painting and this is how it turned out!

Supply list:

Bazzil white, Glimmer Mist, Martha Stewart writing pen ebony, MM paint (strawberry&cream and spotlight), Bo Bunny Alissa alpha, Adornit tiny black alpha, Harmonie chipboard shapes, Prima flowers and leaves and Hotfix rhine stones (size 20 and 16)

Check out the blog of Holly, that's where you can find the challenge.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Hugs,

Mieke
