New word on the blog - Listen

Welcome to a new challenge at the Bird is the Word blog
The new word is
LISTEN
Check out the blog to see the other wonderful layouts by the DT

For this layout I custom made my own background. You know I love to do so.
I used the wonderful Sassafras Lass papers from the collection Indie Girl. I love this line!
You know what I love the most? The edges of the papers, I've cut them off of the paper and put them on the white cardstock. Then I used my Glimmer Mist to get some wonderful lines.
Supplies:
Sassafras paper and cardstock stickers and metal flower
Bazzil cardstock white
Glimmer Mist (on the cardstock), Glam and Glaze (on the flowers)
Jillibean corrugated kraft alpha's
Cosmo Cricket tiny type alpha's
Prima say it in Crystals and craftable flowers
Maya Road wood bingo motifs and kraft tickets
Ranger distress ink, liquid pearls and stickles diamond.
A piece of chipboard from a box.
Well, I'm off looking for news about CHA, I'm on top of it all! lol!
Can't wait to get my hands on new products. Hope it will get to Holland soon.
Big hugs,
Mieke

Second challenge Bird is the Word

Yesterday was the day for the second challenge at Bird is the word blog.
We've had so many wonderful reactions to our first challange and so many have been playing along. Thank you so much for that ladies!

The second word of this month is

Shine

I chose a photo of Mara on horseback after a jumping competition. When ever she sees a horse she starts to shine. That is eversince she was a little girl. I remember we were at the farm at my aunts' and Mara met the Shetland pony "Foefie". I believe she was only 1 year old and didn't talk much words yet except for mum and dad. "Paard" (horse) she said when she saw Foefie and she was fascinated about horses. She rides for over 2 years now and eventhough she fell off a pony last week, she's looking forward to go to the stables again this week.Funny detail is that I learned to ride on Foefie and the pony is still alive, turning 41 this year!

Sneak peak and Happy Newyear

Hi all, hope you are enjoying the last day of the year. It has gone by so fast!
Never scrapped so much as this year but my goal is to scrap even more the coming year and find me some nice DT's!
As you might have noticed, I have a new blinkie here on the blog, I have the honor to be on the wonderful new Challenge Blog that is part of Tidbitz in Time. It's called Bird is the Word and you will find the first challenge and layouts of this amazing talented team in a few days.
This sneak peak is not for the new DT, it's something I'm doing for myself. It's not completely finished because my printer failed on me but you will get an idea with this photo.

Well, that leaves me with saying have a happy and creative New Year.
Be safe!

There is a new sketch... no I don't say this right, there are two new sketches on Little Shop of Sketches made by our Guest sketch artist Danielle Young.
I've done only this sketch, thing are a bit chaotic now around the holidays.
My fellow DT members have done such a great job on both sketches.

I used the My Creative Scrapbook december main kit, full of wonderful papers and embellishments.
Supplies:
MM paper music note ledger Noël
Bo Bunny Noël chipboard, combo stickers alpha's, holly berry wraps and paper
Teresa Collins Noël chipboard frames
Distress Ink Barn Door and Vintage Photo.
The floral is by Prima
I cut out the leaves real carefull and placed that over the piece of paper.

The little girl is me, on the left is my mum and on the right a dear friend of the family.

sneak peak

Hi girls, I have a little sneak peak for you that will be on the LadyBug and Friends blog the 17th of this month.
I don't have much to share with you at the moment. I'm working on a mini album and that takes some time.
Unfortunately Treasure Scrapbooking has no kit this month, this is the last month that Erin is keeping the message board open, shop is already closed. Hopefully there will be a new buyer that will have it up and running soon.
This sunday the last sketch of Little Shop of Sketches will go online for this year. Tanya will continue next year februari with new sketches.

I will be back in a few days, take care and enjoy your creativity!
Hugs,
Mieke

Little Shop of Sketches

Hi, here is my layout for sketch #76 at Little Shop of Sketches.
I used lots of Bo Bunny, love this winter line.
The backround is made with Bazzil white cardstock, sprayed with Glimmer Mist and added some splashes with Glimmer Glaze.
I do love making my own backrounds!!

The rub-ons are also Bo Bunny's but from a few years ago, saved them for a special occasion and this was it! lol! The punch I've used is Martha Stewarts'. Don;t you just adore that trim? That trim was why I bought this line. So cute!

If you want to do the sketch, sent your take of it to Tanya or myself and you will be featured on the blog of Little Shop of Sketches.
Check ou the blog for more information about the prizes to win.

Enjoy the rest of your week!
Hugs,
Mieke

Playing with beeswax

I finally had some extra time to try out my Ranger Melting pot with the Beeswax. That's so much fun!
First you put a loose pan in the melting pot, then some beeswax and turn up the heat.

I wanted to work with some pretty old napkins I had still laying around to put on a square tag.
All you need is a larger brush, a napkin (only the top layer), a tag, a hot wax stylus tool and some Ranger Perfect Pearls.

Put the melted wax over the tag, that dries very fast.
Then put the napkin over your tag, just how you like it to be and start to go over it with your hot wax stylus tool. The wax under the napkin melts and "glues" your napkin to the tag.

Add some perfect pearls to the edges to get some shine and done is your tag.

I've done two sides cause I want to put it in a mini album as a small page.
Thanks for looking again!
Hugs,
Mieke

A layout as a gift

Last friday was my neighbours' birthday and what to give a girl that has it all? Well, then you make a layout in a frame!!
I took this photo last new years day. Their son looks so cute!
Had some winter papers of Bo Bunny that fitted the photo so well.

The text is a rub-on from Bo Bunny for a few years ago

Just like this overlay, also BB.

The ribon is BB, the metal frame is from Tim Holtz with alpha's by Cosmo Cricket.
The frame is from a cheap store called "Action". I took out the glass and had to crop the paper a little bit.
Thank you for looking and for all your comments. I love them!

Crop at Treasured Scrapbooking

Hi all, hope you've had a good weekend. I sure have. The Get a Jump on Xmas crop at Treasured Scrapbooking was so much fun!

Not only did I scrap some examples but I also did a few challenges.

This card was for the Card Sketch challenge. Simple style but this Teresa Collins paper is so fine. As well as for layouts (scroll down and you can see! lol!) as for cards.

I used the Noël collection papers and riboon, Spellbinders die and a metal corner from the local craft store.

This layout was an example for the color challenge. Use red, cream and green, well the papers from Girls Paperie has it all. This paper is special to me, it was a gift from my sweet friends for my birthday last month. Girls.... thanks again!!!!

I love my Tim Holtz dies, this roset large die is so fine. I received my second hand QK Revolution with the large plates and tried a piece of Teresa Collins paper, the roset came out so good that I used it right away. It needed only a little bit of Distress Ink and a piece of pearls that I had left.

Roses are Prima's, the vine of crystals is by Magnolia.

This layout was the example for the ad inspiration challenge.
I loved the text on this ad so I used that idea.

Again the Teresa Collins Noël collection

The heart is a Tim Holtz die, it has three different parts. I used the double sided paper from TC, turned the middle heart and finished the outside with Glossy Accents.

Last but not least I did this layout sketch challenge.
Cardstock with a little Glimmer Mist in green and silver. Pink Paislee paper, Bo Bunny alpha and ribbon and the quote is by Teresa Collins

The flower I made myself with a little crochet work from my mum.

I glimmer misted this bit, then colored it with a waterpen and Distress Ink. Loved to do this, to give some shadow and a little bit of color.

Thank you again for looking and all your sweet comments.
Hope to see you on Treasured Scrapbooking someday, it's a fun place to be.

Enjoy your week, make it a creative one!
I know I will, so many idea's !!!!!!
